Landscape and Visual Appraisal
A landscape and visual appraisal, in combination with a wider environmental and technical assessment, was undertaken to assess the opportunities and constraints associated with new electrical on-shore connections from the proposed Triton Knoll off-shore windfarm to feed into the national high-voltage electricity transmission system – the National Grid.
A number of options were determined of sub-station locations on the coastal fringes and associated overhead powerline connections, in particular following relevant landscape and visual guidance, including the Holford Rules.
Following the initial environmental and technical assessment, a preferred option was selected.
