Slade Farm, 50kW single wind turbine, Devon

Slade-Farm-wireframeA landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) was produced for a proposed 50kW wind turbine (34.5m to blade tip), near South Molton in Devon.

The purpose of the LVIA was to identify and outline the existing landscape character and visual amenity receptors within the study area and to assess as a result of the proposed development. Mitigation measures were proposed, including during the initial design phase, to reduce the impacts and effects of the proposed development.

Consultation with the Local Authority helped to determine the extent of the study area, the potential viewpoints, all of which were interpreted as wireline views and photomontages and mitigation measures such as advising on proposed wind turbine on the nearby Exmoor National Park.

The proposed wind turbine was granted planning permission.
