Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and Landscape Masterplan
A landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) was produced to support the planning application for a proposed landfill on a former brickworks site on the fringes of Cardiff.
The key issue was the potential influence of the works on the adjacent urban fringes of Cardiff. Impacts were restricted through the retention and enhancement of mature vegetation on the fringes of the site as well as the design of where the landfill operations would take place.
In addition, a landscape restoration masterplan was produced which outlined the design of the site following completion of the works. Liaison with the Vale of Glamorgan Council officers were key in producing the final design.
