A landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) was produced for a proposed 30MW solar development near Cambridge in Stroud.
Mitigation measures were proposed as part of the assessment process to limit the immediate and wider potential impacts and effects of the proposed development, in particular on the nearby network of public rights of way and the surrounding settlements, as well as the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The mitigation measures, including advice on the siting and height of
design and layout. These were illustrated on an indicative landscape masterplan.
Through discussion with the Local Authority, photomontages were also produced from agreed locations. The viewpoints focussed on sensitive locations including from elevated and open locations within the AONB. These helped to illustrate how the proposed mitigation measures will help to reduce the potential impacts and effects of the proposed development would have on the nationally recognised landscape.
The proposed development was granted planning permission.
