Landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) for 1mW solar PV development. A non-EIA development, the LVIA considered the effects on the surrounding, largely agricultural undulating landscape and scattered residential properties and public rights of way. Mitigation measures, including hedgerow and woodland planting, as well as positioning of the solar panels were suggested to minimise the wider effects. This development was granted planning permission in May 2011.
