A landscape and visual appraisal was produced for a proposed housing development on the south-eastern fringes of the settlement of Bradford Peverell in West Dorset.
The purpose of the appraisal was to identify the landscape characteristics of the site and its surrounding environment and to assess the opportunities and constraints to inform the potential scope for housing development.
Potential effects of the proposed development were identified as well as measures proposed to try and avoid, reduce or compensate for these potential effects. The presence of the site within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) was also a key consideration.
In addition, the appraisal was used to inform the detailed design in respect of the residential development.
