Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment
A landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) was produced for a proposed 5MW solar development in Somerset.
Involvement in the earliest stages of the design were important in reducing any potential impacts and effects, including consultation with the technical and environmental team, as well as the local authority landscape architect.
A thorough and comprehensive LVIA which advised minimising disruption to landscape elements and landscape pattern as well as restricting views from surrounding residential properties, public rights of way and minor roads through design and proposing mitigation such as additional planting ensured that this solar development secured planning permission.
A landscape and environmental management plan (LEMP) was also produced to fulfil planning conditions following consent.
